“Why We Crave Horror Movies” by Stephen King

I found this very interesting and entertaining to read because I am a horror film fan. When Stephen wrote “The fun comes from seeing others menaced- sometimes killed.” I thought it was a very creepy thing to say and also I weird thing to think about. I personally don’t think horror films are fun because of that I just like being spooked and horror movies usually have good twist and keep you engaged throughout the film. There are never dull parts in scary movies and if there is then to me it wouldn’t be a very good movie. When Stephen goes on and describes how it makes us become children again, I agree complexly with this. I never thought of it this way but I feel what he is saying is that as we grow up we tend not to be afraid of things and get spooked as easily as we would when we where children and watching scary movies brings us back to that time when we would be scared. I thought it was a little weird how he kept bringing up that we are all insane… I personally don’t think that, I mean we all can be a little strange or weird but not insane. Overall I think Stephen King did a good job and writing this. It kept me engaged the whole time.
